HENTON FABERGE OUTSTANDING SUCCESS IN FIRST EVER OLYMPIC CUP START

The final afternoon stages the top show jumping class of the year, the one each and every top rider aspires to qualify for during the preceding days - the Olympic Cup.

The past two seasons has seen the combination of Henton Faberge (For Edition / Genius) and the young rider, Emelia Forsyth go from 1.10 to qualifying for the most prestigious class in the show jumping calendar. Something they would have only ever dreamed of at the beginning of their partnership.

Henton Faberge picked up only one rail in each round to finish their first Olympic Cup in 6th place.

Henton Lodge and the family of Emeila were on site to hugely congratulate her on an outstanding finish to what has been a stellar season. During the four phase class - dressage, jumping both show jumps and cross country, gallop and confirmation - he was neck in neck with the eventual overall winner of the class. Finishing a very credible second, by one point, for his delighted syndicate of owners including the rider Donna Edwards Smith, Elise Edwards Smith, Gaye and Sarah Cruickshank and Henton Lodge Hanoverians. The five year old DSE Henton For Glory (For Edition / Escudo I / Distelfink / Crown Lease XX), most capably ridden by Donna Edwards-Smith, for a syndicate, narrowly missed out on the prestigious Five Year Old Show Jumping Title at the New Zealand Horse of the Year Show. Donna entered the young gelding, who has been lightly evented during the season, more for the experience at a very busy show, rather than with any thoughts of placing. However when he jumped the first round clear and in fine style, he was asked to step up in the second round. To the delight of the syndicate he finished second by a mere 1.4 seconds. Henton Lodge have remained as part of the syndicate for this exciting young horse and we wish Donna, Elise, Gaye and Sarah all the very best.

Henton Faberge (Dot to her friends) extremely capably ridden by Emelia Forsyth has won the prestigious Nelson Family 1.35m show jumping class at the New Zealand Horse of the Year Show. Emelia and Dot were last to go in the jump off, having been the fastest clear qualifier, their turn of speed, the mare's huge ground covering stride and both Emelia and Dot's determination, saw them achieve the fastest clear second round, against the clock, to see them clinch the Title class. Henton Lodge retains ownership of the mare, having previously been evented by daughter Olivia, prior to her end of last years overseas exchange, which gave the opportunity for Dot to be leased to the Forsyth family.

HENTON FABERGE HAS AN OUTSTANDING WOODHILL SHOW

Henton Faberbe (For Edition / Genius) and her young rider, Emelia Forsyth, have had an outstanding last show of the season.
